NORDIC Walking

Nordic Walking is a WHOLE BODY EXERCIES. It is fun, easy, safe and a great way to improve your physic and burn fat.Designed originally in Scandinavia to train cross county skiers in the summer, it combines a lower body, upper body and aerobic workout comparable to cross country skiing. NORDIC WALKING  increases your heart rate, burns 35% more calories than ordinary walking and uses 85% of your body muscles all at a comfortable pace, when done properly. Physiotherapists have found Nordic Walking great to improve posture, overcome neck, shoulder and back pain and a great rehabilitative exercise. Nordic walking is a great way to let go of daily stresses and  tension and at the same time, you experience  the great outdoors    

    Instruction / Walks 

  • One to One Tuition  -  1 1/2 hrs 
  • Group Sessions  -  Adult  -  1 1/2 hrs
  • Family & Junior Walks  -  1 Hour Session Times:  
  • Private Group  Sessions
  • Qualified Nordic Walking Instructors will teach you the correct techniques, incorporating warm up and cool down exercises.   

   Location: The Instruction & Walk will take place outdoors in scenic locations in and around Tramore, including Beach, Countryside and Coastal Routes.  The session: will take into account ability/fitness level and age of each participant. The aim of the session is  to teach each individual the technique of  Nordic Walking,  Instructors will guarantee the experience to be different, entertaining and enjoyable.

Current Nordic Walking Sessions

Mid Week  &  Sunday Morning Group Sessions. This session is for organised Groups  of 8 people or more.   Cost €15pp

  Nordic Walking Programme – 4 Weeks                         

Start Date : 10th April 2010.   Duration : 4 Saturday Mornings- 10.30 pm to 12pm.       Cost  :        €75

 The Aim of this programme is to introduce participants to the technique of Nordic Walking. On completion of the 4 week programme participants will achieve a beginner to intermediate level of Nordic Walking proficiency .

Programme Content :      *History of Nordic Walking    * Nordic Walking Technique  * Equipment    *Stretching

Participants Need :    Walking Shoes,Light Rain Gear, Water Bottle

Fitness Level: Participants must be capable of walking at a brisk pace for 30 mins. .

Location: Tramore Beach and Lake Area.
